Northfield Elementary School Reviews

The teachers at this school are great and work with every child on their own level.

My daughter attended Northfield for fourth grade. After transferring to another school, we found out how far behind she was in writing and math. There were very few writing assignments and very little math reinforcement--they briefly hits a math subjects and then moved on. I feel as though she regressed at the school.

My son attended Northfield for kindergarten and first. The teachers were often very inexperienced but very sweet and patient with some growing pains he was having. Yet, after transfering to another school system, we found how far behind he was in reading. He entered at early first grade level into the second grade. He is almost caught up with his current class ( it's March ), thanks to the help of his very detailed reading tutor ( from current school )and his current teacher. Northfield didn't seem to be able to offer an enviornment as supportive and progressive as the one he is in now. In first grade, he had mostly 'Needs Improvement', where now he excels with P+'s and E's regularly and no N's! He is one of the most well-behaved and proactive kids in his class... a huge change from Northfield. Perhaps Northfield should consider 'Fundations' Reading Program.
