South High School Reviews

This school faculty is welcoming and instruction has been exemplary in many cases. It is tired looking. Other schools of this age and older do not look as worn or unattended. Much of the facility looks as though it was built just well enough at the time or someone is afraid to disturb what are likely to be difficult to remove and/or replace materials.

I graduated from South in 2005. Many family members of mine have attended both high schools in this district and feel that South has a superior learning environment. Teachers and Administration are organized and on top of diliquency, graduation rates, and care about the students a great deal.

Overall excellent environment for students - safe, variety of experiences offered and good educational opportunities for students. As with all districts, a few 'master' teachers should retire because they don't exhibit creativity or enthusiasm for teaching. However, the school also has a great group of exceptional instructors who believe in teaching and students. School is small enough for students and parents to get one-on-one assitance and support if requested. Great variety of extra-curriculars offered - not just popular sports! Terrific academic, music, and sport programs.
