Brush High School Reviews

This school is excellent!! The academics, arts, atletics, and the various clubs are awesome. Brush gives you alot of choices academically such as AP and Honors which I will be in for my freshman year. The athletic department is really good too because it brings you closer to friends, teachers, and coaches that will be with you through high school and sometimes after high school. Brush has a wonderful arts program and a wonderful music program. Brush is awesome!!

I go to Brush High School and there everyone is very important. We have school spirit (for the most part) and you can end up being anyone you want. There's so many opportunities, it's so overwhelming. Post secondary, AP classes, Honors, vocational classes and so many other things. I love going there, I'm a Sophomore now and I can't wait for the next couple years. Even though I want out of school (period), I'm glad I'll be in that school for the next 2 years.

I graduated from Brush a couple years ago, and I loved being a student there. There were no cliques and, for the most part, everybody got along. It was an incredibly diverse community, and I emphasize the word 'community.' The academic advising could've been much better, but most of my teachers were very involved with the students, friendly and educated. To the people insulting the school: Everything is what you make of it. There are almost 1500 students in that school -- of course every single person won't get special attention. Make an effort. There are tons of AP and Honors classes and extracurriculars. Also, like anywhere else, students were only disrespectful to teachers that allowed it. If you demanded respect, you got it. Academics were good, especially for such a large public school. I got a full tuition scholarship to my school of choice, and felt well-prepared for college.

If you are not an athelete or a high acedemic achiever you are treated like one of the masses. No special attention. The counseling dept is unresponsive.

This school has the support of a great, caring staff and administration. It's up to the parents to make sure their child is getting involved and working to their potential. The school is very diverse and is similar to many college enviornments. It's a great learning experience in many ways. We are happy to have our children in this district!

Our academic programs are second to none in this area. Our arts sports and other extracurriculars are a great experience, and I myself am involved in many.

The programs for gifted students are outstanding! My son graduated from Brush in 2006 with a GPA of 4.1. He was offered many challenging opportunities such as AP and Honors courses. He is completing his first year at Cornell and felt prepared by his education at Brush for the challenge of this top tier University. He would occasionally mention an incident at the school between other students, but he never personally had any problem with any of the other students. He said that the 'stereotypical high school cliques and pecking order' did not apply to Brush students. The teachers went far beyond what was required of them in their efforts to work with the students, and my son formed lasting bonds with many of them- maintaining contact with them even after his graduation. Brush is Excellent in the areas of Art education as well.

I have never seen a school's demographics change as dramatically and rapidly as this one. The administration is generally unfriendly and unhelpful in resolving any discipline issue that happens. There are much better schools than this one.

I have subbed at this school, and I have to say I have rarely had a good edxperience here. Fights in the classrooms, general disorder, disrespect and insubordination were rampant. Admnistration shows little interest in helping with the problems I have seen.

I have been disappointed in the school. Visiting classes, I see little discipline, the kids are rude and foul mouthed and have little respect for the school, teachers, or one another.

I'm a Junior at Brush and I love this school. They have excellent acedemic programs such as the AP and Hornors classes, and a lot extra-cirrcular acivites.

This is a good diverse and strong school. I enjoy how close the community works together.

Brush is an excellent high school. We have two children who graduated from Brush and a third child now a freshman. They have had excellent experiences regarding teachers who care, challenging courses with a range of Honors/AP options, and a great band, show choir and sports teams. Each has made good friends from families that are involved and committed. The two graduates were well-prepared for college and received substantial scholarships.

My daughter is a Freshman this year and the school is phenomenal! The teachers are well educated, great discipline and above average AP, honors and advanced classes available. Other districts in the area have cuts in these areas - check it out! The extra curriculars are outstanding, especially band!

I am very unhappy with the level of education at Brush High School. They did little more than enforce rules on our kids. Very disappointing school.

The academics are top notch, music, art, sports, and other programs are plentiful. My involvment is less than what I would like, which is by force of the school not my choice. Brush has several excellent programs and teachers.

My son is a senior at Brush High School. The school has been excellent. The Brush has something for every student in both class offerings and extracurriculars. As an involved parent I have seen the kids in various settings and they have great!
