East High School Reviews

My son is a member of the JROTC program in East High School. I was surprised when he told me he built a rocket until I saw Sargent Luster and Col. Bandridge and students launching those rockets just before the end of the last school year. He really loves rocketry and I have seen his attitude change for better since being influence by these too men. Thank you.

I had an opportunity to view the manuals that Maj. Rivers Baldridge he produced. They are fantastic!!! I was amazed from the photos and learning about what he was teaching in his Jr. R.O.T.C. class. And noticed there is no mention of this amazing program listed or talked about on any website, and should be. If parents of the students involved in this program, are not aware of what their child is doing, should make it their business to check it out. I hope the administration members of the Cleveland Board of Education and of East High are supportive of Maj Baldridge...if not they should be. From what I saw in the albums, I would have wanted my child to have experienced his teaching. I look forward to hearing more about him. East High School should be proud to have such a knowledgeable person. Kudos to you Major Baldridge!!!

I am extremely impressed with AFJROTC in this school. I peeked in on a after school session of robotics. Robotics in high school! Wow! For college creadit! I wouldn't have known this except for the display case in the lobby had great pictures taken by the Computer Knights of East High. I was told most of these students were AFJROTC students. They are professional. It is easy to believe the Plain Dealer negative stories but you have some positive stories they don't tell. My daughter is in the eleventh grade and she wanted me to sign a permission slip to go on a field trip to Columbus Ohio. When I talked to the Officer there, he said this program was about leadership, citizenship and community. The students in this program looked the part as they were practicing with the shiny helmets and rifles, about to perform. East is changing, better!

It is not the school but the students in the school. A person cannot blame a school or staff for what the parents did not do at home. Yes, there should be more stability and resources avaiable but in the circumstances things are just not there right now. East High is improving just give it time.

I taught at East High 2003-2006. If you want a safe environment or education--East is not for you.

I think that this school has improve since 2005 because of the small schools that we have a better chance of learning because there are smaller class sets. our teachers do really care about us and also our principles. People always under estimate our because of what they see on T.V but inside the school ther are excesive lessons of learning going inside of our classes. To me East High will become better through out the years.Graduate c/o '08'.

I am very disappointed that I as a parent can not get into contact with an adult at this school. I either get a student or a recording. If I do get a adult they are very rude or do not have time to answer my questions or concerns. The school is not safe and the teacher do not care if the students learn or not. Parents will not get involved because there is no security at East High. Quality of education has gone way down. Totally disappointed.

April 8,2004. Obviously a student added the last review. In my opinion the school has improved since last year and things seem to be getting better. Next year the school will be divided of into separate schools for a better education for the students and East High School will be one of the best. ~A Graduation Senior. Class of 2004

Terrible School , racist, not safe, very unfriendly children , uneducated staff, really rediculous!
