Cornerstone Christian Academy Reviews

My child was in the K-4 classroom last year. I was really impressed with the academics. She is already reading and writing. Her teacher reinforced positive and moral character. The older students in the school provided positive student leadership for the younger students. I believe my daughter received a very strong academic and moral program.

Weak committment to training & embracing christian character. Students are not stretched spiritually. It is a average private school, however, lacks the foundation for a Christian school. Non-existant board. No organization exist to foster dialogue between parents & leadership. Very closed door policy, prefer parents stay un-invloved. Students are exposed to in-appropriate conduct. leadership does not follow thru on discipline issues, therefor anything goes. Very much like a public school, with uniforms.

I'm a student a CCA, and not only are the teachers always there for the mass of the student populous. They are also there for the individual. When ever I have a problem or question they are always there to help me out. They may not have the best sports program, but we always strive our hardest in whatever we do. So if i were to sum the school up in about 3 words I would probably say Godly, Helpful, Considerate, and Friendly. So if you are thinking about putting you child in a christian school. I would recommend this school, and we would welcome them with open arms.

I'm a student at CCA, and can't express how grateful I am for all of the teachers and staff that work there. They all really care about how your doing; you can come into their classroom during a free period and ask them questions about the material or anything personal. They really strive to help students and serve the Lord. The sports teams are excellent, beating both Hawken and Kirtland in soccer. The music and drama program is rapidly growing with more and more students joining every year. They now have an after school Acting Club in addition to Drama class for high school and elementary students. The productions put on are of fabulous quality. Chapels are held every Wednesday during fourth period. Throughout all of the academics, sports, and extracurricular activities (i.e. mock trial), God is always included in them. All in all, CCA is the place to be.

Weak commitment to diversity training - thus tends to be paternalistic to minorities. Weak commitment to athletics, though one parent has established great soccer / softball reputaion w/o school support. Weak in fund raising, thus weak in comparable value to CVCA or Mentor Christian. Distant and unteachable headmaster, inexperienced and uninvolved board. Minimal offerings in creative academics. No athletic fields.

I cannot say enough about what an awesome school CCA is! Academically, the student ACT/SAT performance is always at the top with a couple exclusive private schools. State and National averages are consistently demolished. Having had our kids in other Christian schools, my husband and I are humbled by how blessed Cornerstone is. They are one of the few Chritian schools that actually compete with public schools in sports. Some of the fondest memories my children have are when CCA upset Hawken one year and Kirtland public the next, in Soccer championships. I have never met a more caring nor capable Headmaster. My kids love him dearly. The communication skills my kids have developed there are amazing. My husband is very impressed with how the students learn life-skills so effectively without being beat over the head with rules. We praise the Lord for CCA!

Administration is not approachable, conduct of student body is normative - not set apart, athletics commitment is very weak, no development activity or endowment, tuition is overpriced with little financial aid available.

I have children @ CCA and have found a very Christianity a loose term with not much focus on what that actually is. Behavior of children there is not what I would expect from a Christian school. It reminds me o a public school with a Christian overtone to lure Christians in who are looking for a Christian education but getting exactly what you can expect at a public school. The teachers are dedicated but the curriculum is average as it would be a any public school. So I do not think it is an exceptional school by any stretch of the imagination.

Fantastic School!!! Fabulous academic program. Wonderful teachers

My son have been a student for the last two years. The school is excellent. I like that it is small and caring. The academics are good. They don't offer a lot in music programs, nor do they have football and cheering leading...so if you are looking for these kind of things then this is not the school for your child. I was looking for academics and a place that would help my child grow spiritually. My child before going to Cornerstone was at a large Christian School and was failing badly. He was too busy trying to fit in and be accepted by his peers. At Cornerstone everyone is special and fits in. Yes the school offered everything a large public school did but because of the size many students were not able to participate in those activities. So hats off to Cornerstone for giving teenagers what they really need-academics strong spiritual

I have a daughter in CCA and we couldn't be happier. The staff and faculty truly care about the students and families. Not only are the academics excellent, but the spiritual growth we have witnessed in our child and her friends is awesome! For a small school, the sports programs are good. CCA is constantly striving to grow in all areas. I am looking forward to sending my younger child in 7th grade.
