St. Richard School Reviews

My expectations with the teachers have been highly met. They continually challenge students which allows them to prepare, plan and organize themselves for high school. The principals there are very fair but do not tolerate misbehavior. The negative comments that I have seen posted must have come from an angry parent who's child misbehaved too much and were disciplined for their actions. My children have the freedom to learn and not be interrupted by classroom trouble-makers, threats, or social issues that most schools face. Children are there to learn and be nurtured which is exactly what happens. They also know that there are consequences for their actions. SRS is a great school!

They have no idea anymore what teaching is. It has become a sit and listen, and do not question us. That's the attitude from the princiapl. This once great school now loses caring teachers because of this attitude. Someone please SRS it is about the childern

Sure..Seeing is believing. I am sure a great show is put on, but the truth is the school has had issues for years. Quality and concern for students has dropped. Seems with the letting go of experienced teachers to be replaced by cheaper new ones has caught up with them. They have no idea anymore what teaching is. It has become a sit and listen, and do not question us. That's the attitude from the princiapl to the parents.

Saint Richard school students, teachers and staff welcome visitors. Come and see what we do. Seeing is believing.

Too bad they are so busy investing in technology, and not our children. Principal has turned over a staff of long term knowledgable teachers to a group of 'newbies' afarid to do anything

We sent our daughter their for four years. We had nothing but problems and were let down by the teachers and principal. Our experience was that St. Richard failed us.

The curriculum at St. Richard ranks far above any other school in the area. Students leave SRS extremely prepared as they display great confidence, leadership, and excellence in and outside of their high school classrooms. The knowledge and faith based learning experiences last a lifetime.

Wonderful school. Everyone involved with the care of the children from the principal and teachers to the parents are wonderful. Great experience!

St. Richard School is the leading school in the diocese for technology, along with being named a benchmark school. Every tool has been provided to enable the teachers and students to keep current with changing technology. These tools, along with faith-filled, learning give an optimum place for a child to be. As a teacher and a parent of this school, I chose the best, and I am getting the best education possible for my children.

St. Richard School let me down twice. It failed me as a student back in the 70's and failed my daughter in the late 90's. I didn't see any caring or faith being taught. I enrolled my daughter because I wanted her to have Catholic schooling. After watching her grades go down and her become an unhappy child. The principal encouraged me to take my daughter to a different school, because they couldn't or wouldn't help her. She is advanced and was not getting what she needed. St. Richards answer to advancement is having the child sit in the hallway with a math book while the others are in the classroom. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

St. Richard is an excellent school. One indicator is how well students have done on the state-mandated ninth-grade proficiency tests. Over the period of years that they were given the eighth graders scored well above the norm. For years 100% of the students passed the reading portion of the test. The passage rate on the writing and citizenship sections varied from 96%-100%. The average for math and science varied from 88%-96% passage rate. Not many schools can claim this record!

We are so pleased that we have found the answer to a Christian education. My children are getting a faith-filled upbringing in a loving atmosphere. We couldn't recommend it higher. The teachers go beyond the requirements to see that our children succeed. They have given a foundation that has enabled our highschoolers to more than succeed. Superior!

St. Richard School has been identified by the Diocese as a Benchmark School. This means it is seen as a model of excellence in Catholic education. The principal has created a safe and spiritual environment for the children. During these tough economic times, the pastor has made continuous improvments in the school, increased salaries and kept the parish fiscally sound. Standardized test scores show that the 'average' student tests at least 2 grade levels above their peers nationwide. Ninety-five % of the 8th graders who apply to Catholic high schools are eagerly admitted. 'Academic Excellence Rooted in Gospel Living' identifies St. Richard School very well.

The students at this school are excellent. The teachers are hard working. The principals are dedicated. The parents go above and beyond to help in any way they need.

I have been a teacher at SRS for a number of years. I have found the faculty and staff very willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to do their best to meet all of the children's individual needs. This takes the help and support of both the school and the parents, it is a partnership. Teachers who teach in a Catholic school are there because they believe in Catholic education. Most Catholic School teachers are paid a lot less money than the public schools. Yet, they still do an outstanding job and work very hard.

SRS is the best! We are always improving our teaching styles. We are very big into technology and giving every child a real world experience at school. We make learning very fun by providing various materials to teach with. Our principal is very organized in presenting technolgy that will be the wave of the future. I give every child in my class the special attention they need. I love to email my parents on a regular basis to let them know how their child is progressing . I also like to challenge students who are advanced in my class. I have never had a child say my class is too boring. I teach at SRS because the parents and staff always support what I do. The involvement here is outstanding! I have never been inside a better school. I enjoy the wonderful first graders I get to teach each year!

I am a parent of two graduates of this school. Both children have gone on to Catholic High Schools and were very well prepared. The teachers stress personal responsibility for oneself. I am confident they received a strong base for higher education! The parish collections supplements the school's tuition. The parents are only paying half of the cost of full tuition. To ask parishioners to contribute for someone who is not giving of themselves to our parish is unfair.

St. Richard's School provides an exceptional education to their students. The faculty & staff are not only able to give a quality education, but are more than delighted to do so on a daily basis with exciting & dynamic methods of instruction. The school & parish are comparable to a family environment. We take pride in our abilities as a school and consider ourselves simply the best.

Overall quality of this school has been disappointing. Some teachers have been less than capable of a quality education. Not belonging to this parish also has been a negative. The pastor of this parish has little or no involvement with the students or their education. Non parishioners are charged a different tuition than parishioners. This practice is very unfair and should be addressed by the diocese. Belonging to another local parish without a school should not be looked down upon, or treated differently. This practice should be taken into consideration when choosing to send your children to this school.
