The college prep I received often reaches far beyond that of my college peers, with many outstanding teachers making my preparation possible. Mags is competitive without being stressful; the girls take cues from the classroom but also challenge themselves independently. The sense of community can be a huge asset to an education at Magnificat, and I know it helped me tremendously when I had personal struggles during high school. Students, teachers, and administration alike truly care for not only the success and achievement of the student, but also her well-being. The course catalogue could benefit from further progressive additions, but that aside, Magnificat is a superior place to gain an education.”

“I just graduated from Maginificat High School last year and I have to say that it was an amazing environment. The school was very challenging and had a wide selection of classes to choose from. The teachers were AMAZING!!! They are understanding and really want to help you. As for preparing me for college, they did a great job. I had a lot of help with aplications and filling out financial aid. Being an Interior Architectue major at one of the toughest programs in the state I am eternally greatful for the great education I have received at Magnificat.”

“As a parent, I loved Magnificat. The values I taught my daughter were reinforced. Most of the teachers are excellent. My daughter is a college freshman now and she tells me she is very well prepared for college. I read the review posted on 3/17/05. That parent is completely incorrect. The curriculum is very good and the girls go to colleges that are not mediocre. Most Magnificat students score higher than the average on th SAT and ACT. The sports programs are excellent. It's a great school and I'm very glad I sent my daughter there. My daughter is very proud to say she is a Magnificat graduate.”

I tested out of several freshman college courses and earned my Bachelor Degree in less than four years. I miss Magnificat more than I can say. Cliche as it sounds, high school was one of the best times of my life. The friends I made there have stayed with me through the years. If I ever have a daughter, I'll be sending her to Magnificat in hopes that she will enjoy it even half as much as I did.”

“So I'm not a parent, I'm a senior, but I know more about Magnificat than any parent. The academic programs are challenging if the student chooses to take the challenging courses and qualifies for them. I'm currently taking AP US History, AP Calculus, AP World Literature, Spanish 4, Physics, Chorale, and Show Choir in my senior year in addition to having a main role in the school musical and involvement in Model UN and Campus Ministry. The school is challenging if you allow yourself to be challenged. The guidance department could be better, but if you're on this website looking up a high school for your child, I'm sure you'll be more than enough college counselor for your child. Sports? We're the best, there is no doubt. Talent? We're the best, there is no doubt. Parent Involvement? It's there, but our students dont need it, we're becoming adults.”

“I sent two of my daughters to Magnificat High School only because the other options for our side of town are very poor. This was a huge mistake and I would never send a child to Magnifcat High School again. The teachers are outdated, as is the course selection. They have no computer department to speak of (this in the year 2005), and most of the graduates end up going to very mediocre colleges. That is not surprising since the SAT average scores from Magnificat students is BELOW the national average. The worst part (there are so many that it is hard to choose) has to be counseling. They will basically do with the kids what they see fit, and they always encourage the girls to aim LOWER rather than higher. I guess so that they look better. Sports are a joke too, now. RUN from this school ASAP.”
