St. Mary of the Assumption School Reviews

St.Mary's gives all students an excellent education. The school reflects the motto 'Together in Christ.' They have many varied programs. The staff is caring and works to ensure that each student can succeed. The students contribute to the area through public service.St.Mary's is a faith based school that prepares its students well for the needs of the 21st century.

We love this school. Our boys have had all of the best instruction in reading especially in First and Second Grades.

After reading some of the reviews posted by other parents of this school, it saddens me to think that some could see this school in anything other than a positive light. I volunteer at the school weekly and find that the students are highly educated past their friends in the public schools and leave this school highly motivated to succeed. Several new clubs have been formed and keep the students interested and focused on creating a strong base for their future. The teachers are dedicated and many give of themselves to seemingly every event sponsored by the school including coaching sports. The principal is ready to assist at any given time and is frequently seen around the school. The students (my children especially) talk of fun and interesting classes in which they learn from a high-tech computer lab and vastly stocked science lab with all sorts of specimens, rocks, & fossils.

I've been very disappointed with the this school. The junior high needs to change dramatically. The end results might be good, but if so, its only because the students are given hours of homework each night and multiple projects that require parent assistance. It makes me wonder what is getting accomplished during the day.

At St.Mary's, we often hear back from some of our parents whose children have begun highschool. They express to us how thankful they are for the strong foundation that St.Mary's has given their children academically. Often times, these students are already ahead of their peers from other schools! It gives us a great feeling of satisfaction to know that we have sent off our students fully prepared for highschool.

St. Mary's has a few teachers that are forward thinking. Mostly the teachers are out dated. Same old information taught the same old boring way. I would like to see a little creativity.

We were very pleased with St. Mary's School untill junior high. The elementary teachers were always helpful and would take the time to listen to parents. The reading program was especially good. In the junior high environment we found that students were loaded down with home work , project were not well planned because we were always working on several at one time. Some of the teachers seemed to suffer from giant egos.

Great school! Great teachers! The faculty works very hard to ensure that all students work to their full potential. Curriculum is challenging but yet age appropriate. Very friendly atmosphere. Parents have many opportunities to become involved in their childs education.

St. Mary's is a school of high academic quality. Students are taught to be responsible and learn how to succeed. They are challenged while still being rewarded for their effort. My own children have been well prepared for high school better than many from other schools. As I still have a child attending, I see the junior high continuously seeking to improve its program, and working to bring out the best each student. Being a good Christian is an important part of the education process. For the most part the staff and teachers exemplify the qualities they are trying to instill in the children.

St Mary's schooll is a place where all students are encourage to live by their Christian values while being prepared for their continuing education. The school stays ahead of other programs in technology and content.

Our childrens experience at St. Mary's school was very mixed. The elementary school provided a very solid foundation, especially grades 1-3. Junior High was a different experience. Some teachers were giving what we considered High School homework. We simply became tired of our son's homework becoming a family project.

The academic programs are excellent--students are very well prepared for high school! Parents are encouraged to become involved in school activities and are welcomed. Extracurricular courses are taught during the school day but there could be more afterschool extracurricultar activities. Teachers are ezxcellent and offer before or after school tutoring--free to help students succeed!

What an amazing school. My child has been put to the test and come out with flying colors academically. I know my child will be prepared for Catholic high school. For only entering during Jr. High years, my child has been embraced by faculty and staff, and welcomed nicely by the students.

Teachers ensure that students are ready for high school. Very good test scores and a great overall atmosphere. Friendly staff, a good Christian place to learn.

The elementary grades are outstanding in many ways! However, the junior high suffers from outdated pedogogy, very little creativity and inconsistent discipline.

This school for many years has offered a top notch education to all the students who attend. It is a solid faith based school with a great academic program. The faculty is compassionate and works hard to help every student reach their fullest potential. Students graduate with a solid foundation for high school and their future.
