Thirsty Parrot brings Caribbean feel to downtown

Like peanut butter and jelly, the Thirsty Parrot and Cleveland sporting events just go together. Cleveland has made the Thirsty Parrot Bar and Grill, located centrally on Huron Road downtown, the place to go before (and in many cases, after) sporting events and other major downtown happenings.

With a festive Caribbean atmosphere and lots of home-team spirit, the Thirsty Parrot serves its customers some serious fun and flavor. From the big-screen TV’s to the enthusiastic staff, there is no doubt that this classic bar and grill is a favorite among Clevelanders everywhere.

Lighting up the Gateway District like a colorful dessert oasis, this restaurant has an extensive outdoor patio that rocks until the wee hours of the morning on game days. A huge bar featuring dozens of domestic and imported beers, wines and spirits is on hand to ensure a good time among friends — as long as you call a taxi or take the RTA to get back home.

The menu offers burgers, wraps, soups, salads and finger foods. The appetizer sampler, which contains buffalo wings, fried cheese sticks, onion rings along with an arsenal of dipping sauces, and the bacon barbecue cheeseburger are favorites.

A variety of desserts, from ice cream to hot fudge cake, are also available.

Dress is casual, and, of course, Cleveland sports garb is encouraged. (Don’t get caught wearing a Steelers jersey in here — you just might not make it out alive!) Reservations are never required.
