An amalgamation of Szechuan, Thai, Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese cuisines, Pearl of the Orient in Rocky River is a relaxed yet upscale eatery that features an enormous patio, fully stocked bar and newly remodeled sushi bar.

Whether you delight in fresh seafood, grilled meats, delicately prepared sushi or crisp-sautéed vegetables, Pearl of the Orient’s diverse menu is sure to please every type of culinary penchant. The restaurant boasts the usage of only fresh ingredients and is always light on the use of oil in all of its delicious dishes.

For starters, try the chicken satay, a delicious skewered chicken breast that’s grilled to a golden brown and served with a spicy Thai peanut sauce. The tempura calamari and hot and sour soup are also great choices.

For your meal, enjoy the Salmon with E-Fu Noodles, a steamed, diced filet of fresh salmon that is tossed with fresh tomatoes, onions and mushrooms with noodles in a savory sauce.

If you’re looking for something a bit meatier, try the Pearl Surf and Turf — a dozen broiled jumbo prawns in light lemon butter paired with a 12-ounce strip steak cooked to order in a ginger mushroom sauce served with mushrooms and broccoli.

The restaurant also specializes in "Tasting Menus," which features a variety of foods for two to eight people at one reasonable cost. Items like almond honey chicken, rainbow prawns, spring rolls, rice, and beef with snow peas are among the choices. Each tasting menu includes appetizers, entrée items and sides.

Visit the Pearl of the Orient web site for more information or to view the full menu. Reservations are appreciated, especially on busy weekends. Dress is casual.
