The Pub: where all who dine are royalty
May 3, 2009
With dozens of imported lagers and ales, hearty shepherd’s pie and live music on the weekends, The Pub in Rocky River has become a local favorite.
The building is designed after a traditional London corner pub, with sturdy craftsmanship and rich color schemes. The interior's hearty woods, warm lighting and intricate details let you know that every square inch of the establishment was put together with pride and care. The British flag decorates both the interior and exterior of the building to complete the authentic feel of a United Kingdom pub.
So does the menu. For starters, try the authentic Scottish Egg: a boiled egg wrapped in sausage and breadcrumbs and served with a spicy mustard dip. For your main course, be sure to try The Pub’s Bangers and Mash — a blend of authentic char-grilled British sausage served over whipped potatoes with ale-onion gravy — or The Full Monty, a delightful blend of scrambled eggs, baked beans, sautéed tomatoes, mushrooms, toast and your choice of a banger sausage or Canadian bacon. The dinner menu also features beloved favorites like fish and chips and London broil in a bordelaise sauce.
Those seeking American bistro fare can select from a variety of big, juicy burgers, Panini sandwiches, salads and subs, both hot and cold.
Don’t forget to leave room for some of The Pub’s mouth-watering desserts. If you’re craving something rich, try the Jamaican cheesecake, a delectable amalgamation of chocolate cookie crust, creamy cheesecake, banana slices in banana liquor, caramel sauce, whipped cream and crunchy macadamias.
Other dessert choices include Brit Berry Crepes with Bailey’s cream cheese, Whiskey Bread Pudding with raisins and ice cream, and Tipsy Laird — liquor-marinated berries, brandy, fried pound cake and English custard.
Dress at The Pub is casual and relaxed, and reservations, while not required, are helpful on busy weekends. A private dining room is available for small parties.
