Sorrento's Ristorante Italiano: authentic Italian cuisine in suburbia
Published: Apr 13, 2009
Nestled in a quaint shopping center across the street from Lorain County Community College lies Sorrento’s Ristorante Italiano — a longtime favorite in Elyria, west of Cleveland.
It's easy to see why: Whether for an intimate dinner or quick bite on your lunch break, Sorrento’s serves up authentic, delicious Italian fare at affordable prices. The dining area's casual and relaxed, with low lighting and beautiful hand-painted murals depicting the countryside of Tuscany, with its picturesque villas overlooking the sea and a breath-taking mountain vista.
Diners can enjoy a glass of imported Italian wine while enjoying their tasty entrees like chicken parmigiana in a savory marinara, shrimp and linguine in homemade alfredo sauce and luscious, meaty lasagna. Local favorites include the chef’s special chicken marsala with fresh mushrooms, marsala wine, garlic and butter; broiled sole filets stuffed with lump crab meat and scallops; veal rollatina prepared with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, mushrooms and spices; and ricotta-stuffed manicotti with marinara.
A variety of imported and domestic beers is available and makes a great accompaniment to your meal.
Sorrento’s also serves an assortment of Italian sandwiches, salads, pizza and calzones which are perfect for lunch or a lighter supper.
The laid-back atmosphere means casual dress and no need for reservations. All menu items are available for takeout.
