Quaker Steak and Lube serves up fun with its wings
Published: Mar 30, 2009
We can’t tell which is more fun: the automotive-themed décor at Quaker Steak and Lube, or the delicious chicken wings, fried to perfection in one of the restaurant’s dozens of famous "Lube" sauces.
This local hot spot — which has several Ohio locations, including Cleveland, Valley View, Sheffield and, soon, Vermilion — is a haven for motorsports enthusiasts, wing lovers, curious kids, barflies and burger maniacs alike.
The dining room walls at Quaker Steak and Lube are decorated with all sorts of motor-head memorabilia — from old license plates, traffic lights and racing flags to car doors, engines, bumpers, grills, headlights and tires from a variety of classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. You can even sit underneath a classic Chevrolet Corvette that sits on a 20-foot-tall lift in the middle of the dining area.
Aside from the fun décor, the highlights of Quaker Steak’s menu are the dozens of varieties of wings and sauces. From sweet to spicy, smoky to sassy, crazy to classic, Quaker Steak and Lube has a variety of wing sauces to suit just about anyone’s taste buds.
Voted best wings in the USA in a national contest, flavors like Honey Mustard, Ranch, Parmesan Pepper, Tequila Lime Barbecue, Thai-R-Cracker and Buckeye Barbecue are just a small sampling of what's available.
The menu also features tasty appetizers, from the "O-Ring Antenna" — a huge stick piled high with crunchy fried onion rings and dipping sauces — to "Stick-Shifters," the restaurant’s take on mozzarella sticks with marinara. Juicy burgers, steaks, grilled chicken, fresh salads and pasta also appear on the menu. A full-service bar is also available.
In the summertime, Quaker Steak and Lube features live music and car and motorcycle shows outside along with an outdoor bar and huge patio.
