Taste Food Wine: Cedar Lee's newest destination

Oct 31, 2009

Taste Restaurant, located in the bustling Cedar-Lee neighborhood, is one of Cleveland's most up-and-coming eateries. A bit of a magical hybrid, Taste combines fine cuisine with more than a hundred varietals of wine, making it a fine restaurant and wine bar all in one.

The atmosphere at Taste is contemporary and lively, complete with bright colors, warm lighting and soft music. The granite bar counter is bold and the stainless steel lights are trendy and fun.

With appetizers like red beet carpaccio with spinach, goat cheese, smoked bacon and curry dressing and braised oxtail with onion and whole-grain mustard, you'll know you aren't in Kansas anymore.

Entrees include items such as scallops with creamy leeks and mango and roasted red pepper coulis; braised lamb shank with mashed parsnips; lemon-thyme pork chop with fennel and green apple; sesame-crusted filet mignon with Japanese vegetables and crispy rice cake and duck breast with mustard mashed potatoes and passion fruit sauce. The menu changes seasonally, so be sure to check the Taste website periodically.

Join Taste for happy hour from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday – Sunday. During happy hour, wines and martinis are just $5 a glass, and appetizers are 20% off.

Wednesday nights are wine and dine nights at taste. Bottles of your favorite varietals are all $10 each and every Wednesday night.

For more information on Taste, or to make reservations, call (216) 932-9100.
