Bubba's Q' brings the taste of the South up North
“The key to great, authentic, southern-style barbecue is patience,” says Al “Bubba” Baker, owner of Avon's famous Bubba's Q Restaurant. “Dry rubbing, slow-smoking, and the spices you use in your sauce.”
For more than 35 years, Baker has been cooking up seriously good barbecue. And since 1993, he's been doing it at his award-winning eatery, family owned and operated on state Route 83 in Avon.
You'll feel right at home at this small, laid-back restaurant. Hearty woods give the eatery a bit of a rustic feel while still managing a touch of class that only Bubba's Q can provide.
Bubba's Q sauces and dry rubs have won many national awards over the years, and Bubba certainly doesn't cut corners when creating them. Everything on Bubba Q's menu is slow-roasted, smoked or grilled. The meals are bountiful and the fare is mouth-watering.
Bubba's menu features their famous “D-Boned” baby-back pork ribs, which provide all the taste with no mess of their bone-in siblings, because they're eaten with a knife and fork. Served sauced-up or St. Louis-style, these meaty masterpieces are a piece of hog heaven.
Other menu items featured are Southern fried chicken dipped in Bubba's mother's secret recipe batter; salmon rubbed in Caribbean spices; a 14-hour apple-wood roasted beef brisket; smoked chicken and mild sauce; and flaming beef bourbon short ribs.
Famous sides include sweet potato fries; collard greens; macaroni and cheese; and more.
For dessert, try the sinfully delicious chocolate cheesecake or Southern-style homemade apple pie a-la-mode.
Bubba's Q also caters, so be sure to visit their catering website to book your event.
