Great Lake Medieval Faire: a gateway in time
Published: Jun 22, 2009
Each summer, the Great Lakes Medieval Faire opens its gates as Northern Ohio's only Medieval theme park. Complete with actors and patrons dressed to the period, this popular seasonal theme park allows visitors to return to the 13th century through activities, foods and craft items.
With live entertainment, craft artisans, interactive games and more, the Medieval Faire is a great place to take the family. Guests will see knights joust in the fields and can join King Arthur and Queen Guinevere in village's festivities.
While the historical backdrop makes for an almost-believable time transport, it's the dedicated staff that bring the event to life, creating magic with tales of far-away kingdoms and dragons slain.
If you go, enjoy a fresh turkey leg as did King James and his men at the round table after a victorious battle, or head over to Pirate's Cove, an interactive set where you “arrrrrgh” sure to have lots of fun.
Be sure to catch a play in the Pageant Theatre and let the little ones enjoy a camel ride while you're there, too.
The park hosts weddings each season, so if you and your honey picture a chivalrous medieval gala as the perfect spot for your nuptials, give the Great Lakes Medieval Faire a call at (888) MEDIEVAL to make reservations. The park, which is opened on weekends from July 11 to Aug. 16, also welcomes birthday parties.
Individual tickets are $19.95 per person and can be purchased at the gate or online. Discount packages are also available.
