Cleveland's White Flower Cake Shoppe in Cleveland (Beachwood area) produces cakes and other goodies that are nothing short of breathtaking. From decadent gourmet cupcakes to delightfully-droolworthy brownies to cakes that are true works of art, the White Flower Cake Shoppe is legendary when it comes to baked goods.

White Flower's wedding and special occasion cakes are perhaps the most visually appealing-- intricate works of art made of high-quality flour, sugar and other pertinent ingredients. The fondant cakes, which are covered in a sweet, edible covering that can be dyed in hundreds of colors, feature amazing designs, vivid hues and shapes that will have you do a double-take.

Famous for their purse cakes, White Flower makes edible creations that are easily mistaken for the real thing. Homemade buttercream frosting, chocolate ganache and other icings and fillings (the raspberry filling with vanilla buttercream icing is my personal favorite) are available as well.

If you aren't in the market for a big cake, don't worry -- White Flower has your sweet tooth cravings covered. Huge, moist brownies covered in real milk chocolate and stuffed with fillings like peanut butter and mocha creme; gourmet cupcakes in flavors like classic vanilla, cookies and cream, lemon shortbread, carrot and red velvet; impressive mini cakes (each serves 1-2) with buttercream icing and a variety of cake and filling flavors; and elaborately-iced cookies. And if you'd rather just indulge in a slice of White Flower buttercream-frosted cake, it's available by the slice, too.

Located at the LaPlace Shopping Center at the corner of Richmond and Cedar roads, the bakery also has a kiosk at the Beachwood Place Mall. Indulge in a yummy cupcake, cookie or brownie while you get your shop on. After all, cupcakes are the perfect shopping fuel.
