The Barking Spider: Good old fashioned fun
Mar 9, 2010
Live music and imported (or domestic) beer -- is there any better combination? The lovely folks at the Barking Spider Tavern in Cleveland don't think so, and they just might be correct. No matter your music genre preference (or your beer preference), The Barking Spider Tavern will have a concert that's most certainly music to your ears-- literally.
Located near the Case Western Reserve University campus, The Barking Spider is a small-time bar with big-time aspirations. The historical aspect of the bar is something to mention in itself-- a vintage cash register, nineteenth century original carpentry and more peculiar items on the walls than you can count make the Barking Spider Tavern a Cleveland landmark.
Live music, either inside the bar or outside on the picnic-table adorned patio (seasonally), is presented pretty much every night of the week at Barking Spider. Nothing symbolizes summer in Cleveland like a big glass of your favorite ale or cocktail and an intimate concert that will leave you bobbing your head to the beat. The patio is a bit like a friend's barbacue or a neighbor's backyard party-- a bunch of good friends sitting together in the warm weather enjoying tunes and brewskies at the picnic table.
The Barking Spider doesn't discriminate any genre of music, either. From folk to blues and rock to gospel, they have it all. Even bluegrass and jazz artists make frequent appearances at the Barking Spider.
For a complete listing of upcoming events, visit the Barking Spider Tavern website by clicking here. The facility is open Monday through Saturday from 2 p.m. until 1 a.m., and on Sundays from 1 p.m. until Midnight. Cover charges for live music vary.
