Northfield Park: live and simulcast horse racing
Northfield Park, located on the East side, is Cleveland’s home for harness racing and big-screen simulcast action. With races every 19 minutes during the prime season (summer), there is no shortage of chances to win big money in very little time.
There are several sports bars located throughout the track and a classy restaurant with delicious Angus steaks in the main clubhouse, making Northfield Park a great place to get away from it all.
Be sure to try one of Northfield’s famous micro-brewed beers, made at its world-class microbrewery. If you’re in the mood for something a little more soulful, head to the south end of the track to the barbecue stand, which features hearty ribs, corn on the cob, chicken; sweet potato (and regular) fries, and pulled pork.
When the horses aren’t racing live on the track, you can relax in the sports lounge watching and wagering on simulcast races as you sip on one of Northfield’s famous drink specials.
Try the cherry cheesecake (a tasty blend of vanilla schnapps, cranberry juice and a splash of real cream); the cherry margarita (which features cherry schnapps, tequila, margarita mix and fresh limes); or the root beer float (which combines vanilla schnapps, A&W root beer and fresh cream.) If you’d prefer, of course, you can opt for a beer or wine instead.
Race schedules and wagering information can be found on the Northfield Park web site.
If race wagering isn’t your thing, or you’d rather just try something different, Keno is also offered in the clubhouse and lounges.
Dress is casual (except in the clubhouse restaurant, where business casual is appreciated). Reservations for the clubhouse restaurant can be made here.
