The Inland Seas Maritime Museum in Vermilion is one of Northeast Ohio’s premier maritime attractions, with ship models, antique documents, artifacts and artwork depicting the rich history of our Great Lake.

Opened in 1967, the museum is known locally by the Vermilion lighthouse, which operates on site. Visitors will find details on historical events and  information on the lake’s important role in commerce,  along with artifacts and  and displays that include ship simulations.

Located on the shore of Lake Erie, the nationally renowned museum is  considered to be one of the most complete sources of Great Lakes maritime history and research documentation. It includes a respected research library, a gift shop, informational library and shipwreck research center.

The museum is open daily 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and kids.
