Wildwater Kingdom: a splish-splashing good time for the whole family

Nothing beats the mist of cool water to chill down on a hot summer day. At Wildwater Kingdom in Aurora, 17 acres of pools, water slides and rides means hours and hours of splish-splashing fun for everyone in the family.

From Thunder Falls, a 10-story water-slide complex, to a relaxing lazy river, Wildwater Kingdom is a true paradise for those who enjoy sunshine, thrills and relaxation all in one.

Coral Cove, the park’s water playground, features basketball hoops, inflatable animals, geysers and water guns for the little ones and adults alike.

Next, head over to Liquid Lightning  — a 60-foot-tall, 253-foot-long funnel that sends riders toward the center outlet in a blaze of wet summer fun.

After you’ve had your funnel fun, why not meet your friends and family at Thunder Falls,  a collection of seven 100-foot tall water slides in one colorful complex. Race to the bottom to see who gets there first!

You can also bob up and down in the park’s 30,000-square-foot wave pool —  Tidal Wave Bay —  or hang out in the waterfalls at Splash Landing.

Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Wildwater Kingdom is the perfect place to bring the family for a day of fun, or to celebrate a birthday with the kids and their friends.

The park offers several party rooms that can be booked by calling the park directly. A wide variety of refreshments and meals are available, from pizza and pasta to funnel cakes and cheesecake.

A relaxing cabana with lots of room to soak up some rays is a great place for moms and dads to relax while the kids hit the slides.

Season passes and discount coupons are available. For more information, call the park or visit their website.
