The Lake Erie Nature and Science Center: fun for kids and adults alike in nearby Bay Village
What do wildlife, outer space, and summer camps have in common? Why, the Lake Erie Nature and Science Center, of course. Opened in 1950 in Bay Village, The Lake Erie Nature and Science Center is a place where kids of all ages — and grown-ups too — can enjoy nature exhibits, live animals and an impressive planetarium.
Free admission means hours of family fun that is both educational and affordable. Come visit the assortment of live wildlife — from snakes, squirrels, birds and foxes to fish and frogs. Learn about each animal’s place in our delicate ecosystems and the role they play in our local environment.
Next, head over to the planetarium, where visitors can view stars, planets and other galaxies. Learn about space travel or watch how Earth makes its orbit around the sun. A variety of shows are also available, including Twinkle Tots, an interactive planetarium program for toddlers.
The center also hosts summer camp programs for kids. Overnight camps, rocket camp and moon camp are just some of the available programs available. For more information, call the center or visit its website.
