Cleveland's Goodtime III: not just a good time, a great time!
May 2, 2010
One of the best perks of living in or visiting Cleveland is the beauty and recreational opportunity that come from the Great Lake Erie. And for a cruise along Cleveland’s northern coastline, what could beat the GoodTime III?
The luxury cruise ship has been an icon on the shores of Cleveland since 1958 and hosts cruises ranging from scenic informational afternoons to romantic dinners at twilight.
The five-deck watercraft ventures from the shores of the lake through the Cuyahoga River, which snakes its way through downtown Cleveland. Boasting a full-service bar and offering catered meals, the ship has an impressive capacity of 1,000. It can be rented out for weddings, benefit parties or any other special occasion.
The first deck of t he Goodtime III is fully-enclosed and features air conditioning and a luxurious dining area and dance floor. Other decks are semi-opened, and the top is great for getting a summer tan or enjoying the twinkling stars in the night sky.
In the summertime, dance cruises run regularly in the evenings. These feature a deejay and an excellent sound system -- and sometimes live entertainment. Dinner and luncheon cruises are also available during the warm months. Ticket prices vary depending on event, but are usually affordable: typically under $25 per person. Each cruise lasts from 1.5- 3 hours, depending on type.
The ship is accessed through the pier at Northcoast Harbor. More information regarding private charters for weddings or other personal celebrations is available at the company’s website or by calling (216) 861-5110.
