Grand Pacific Junction: a great place for everyone

Published: Oct 4, 2009

At the Grand Pacific Junction Historic Shopping District in nearby Olmsted Falls, you'll feel as if you've stepped back more than 100 years to a time that was a bit more simple and a trip into town meant getting all gussied up. From the antique locomotive to the century-old horse-drawn carriage displays, the Grand Pacific Junction brings the turn-of-the-century lifestyle back to life.

The wooden sidewalks and meticulously maintained foliage are proof that the shopkeepers who operate businesses at Grand Pacific Junction are persnickety and distinct. Each business unique in the fact that there are no chain brands here-- just small businesses with dedicated owners who are friendly, attentive and ready to provide personal, one-of-a-kind services that you can't find elsewhere.

The layout of Grand Pacific Junction mimics that of a late 1800s town-- complete with extensive porches, wooden shutters and colorful wooden buildings. You can almost feel what it would have been like to hear the clip-clop of horse hooves as folks rode into town on their sturdy steeds.

With nearly 30 businesses on the premises, Grand Pacific Junction offers bridal boutiques, a quilt shop, several restaurants, a spa and salon, candle shop, apparel stores, wine shop, photography studio, dry cleaner, a hotel, wedding chapel, artistry shop, ice cream parlor, barber shop, and financial services. Several specialty shops, which sell everything from antiques to jewelry to trinkets, are also on site.

Be sure to let the little ones get up-close and personal with the antique locomotive engine behind the main parking lot. They're sure to love all of the bells and whistles on this century-old train.
